Joey B. Tucker serves as the Senior Vice President and Managing Broker of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Georgia Properties in Athens, Georgia. Licensed in real estate since 2002 and obtaining his broker’s license in 2006, Joey has built a reputation for leadership, service, and dedication to the real estate profession at the local, state, and national levels.

A highly respected industry leader, Joey has twice been named REALTOR® of the Year by the Athens Area REALTORS®, receiving the honor in both 2013 and 2016. He served as President of the Association in 2011 and again in 2025, and previously served as Athens MLS President in 2008. Throughout his career, Joey has chaired numerous committees and continues to serve on the Association’s Board of Directors.

At the Georgia REALTORS®, Joey served as the 2022 GAR President, where he successfully led significant growth in member participation and conference attendance. His extensive service includes roles as GRI Dean in 2013, Chair of the GAR Young Professionals Network from 2012–2014, Region 5 Regional Director, and member of the Executive Committee, Finance Committee, and Administration & Operations Committee, along with numerous additional leadership appointments.

On the national level, Joey has served the National Association of REALTORS® as the 2023 Liaison to the Executive Committee for Member Services, representing seven committees to the Executive Team. He also served as Chair of the Brokers Engagement Council in 2021 and has contributed to the Meetings and Conference Committee, the NAR Young Professionals Network Advisory Group, and currently serves as an RPAC Fundraising Trustee for Region 5.

Joey is deeply committed to the Athens community. He is a graduate of Leadership Athens through the Athens Area Chamber of Commerce and was honored as both the 2025 People’s Choice and Community Choice winner for Dancing with the Athens Stars. He is a past member of the Athens Young Professionals Advisory Committee and served as President of the Athens Jaycees in 2017. Joey is also an active member of Athens First United Methodist Church.

His community service has included appointments to the Athens-Clarke County Land Bank Authority, the Hearings Board of Athens-Clarke County, and the Planning and Zoning Commission. He has also serves on the Boards of Directors for The Salvation Army and Project Safe. Joey has volunteered extensively with the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s and has proudly served as an event emcee.

Outside of real estate and community leadership, Joey is an avid fan of University of Georgia athletics and enjoys serving as the scoreboard operator for the UGA basketball teams. He is the proud father of his daughter, Olivia, and enjoys spending time with his dog, Ted.
